Flying Fish Fridays at Alter Ego Cider Taphouse

WHEN: Fridays - August 30, September 6, and September 20 - 4–8pm

WHERE: Alter Ego Cider Taphouse, 2025 SE 7th Ave

WHAT: Lyf and Flying Fish crew will be shucking oysters and slinging albacore tuna poke to go with refreshing seasonal ciders (or, okay, Helioterra wines).


Snack Fest PDX

WHEN: Friday and Saturday September 27 & 28

WHERE: Portland Night Market, 100 SE Alder Ave

WHAT: The same crew who begot Portland Night Market are soon to beget Snack Fest PDX. Not to be confused with the Snack Fest in your kitchen every night at 10, this Snack Fest brings together vendors from across town for demos, breakouts, entertainment, and duh, FOOD. We're organizing the Seafood Pavilion with oysters, poke, ceviche, and sushi. That's Friday and Saturday September 27 & 28, same place as Night Market (100 SE Alder, by the train tracks), more info HERE.

Nicky USA's 19th Annual Wild About Game

WHEN: Sunday, October 6th

WHERE: The Resort at the Mountain, Welches, Oregon (out Route 26 on Mount Hood)

WHAT: Nicky USA's 19th annual Wild About Game goes live up the mountain in Welches. Eight killer chefs from Portland and Seattle will compete in a game cooking competition, and we'll be there with our oyster-poke-etc spread as well. That one's Sunday, October 6th, more info HERE.

Sushi Class

WHERE: Flying Fish at Providore Fine Foods, 2340 NE Sandy Blvd

WHO: You and us and Professor Kevin Trinh of Hook and Line Sushi

WHAT: Fresh ingredients - sushi rice & vinegar, nori rolls, and of course, the best fish in Portland -- with a couple saké drinks included for good measure. Lyf from Flying Fish and Kevin from Hook and Line Sushi will cheer you on and you'll walk away with sushi know-how and a full belly. $65 per person - you eat what you roll!


Knife Skills & Fish Filleting Class
