Departure Takeover at the Flying Fish Oyster Bar

WHEN: Saturday, January 19th, 6pm & 8pm (two seatings)

WHERE: Flying Fish at Providore Fine Foods, 2340 NE Sandy Blvd

WHO: You and us and Departure Restaurant + Lounge's Sous Chef Trever Gilbert, serving up two seatings of one amazing 8-course dinner. NOTE: Limited to 8 participants.

WHAT: Departure is closed for most of January for a remodeling (in time for their 10th anniversary!), and while the shop's closed, Chef Trever's gonna share his goods with us. He's preparing a meal of: Oysters, sashimi, sardine ceviche, oil-poached spot prawns, curried mussels, pork spare ribs, beef skirt steak, and yuzu panna cotta. Drool. $100 per person, $20 wine pairing available to add-on.

WHAT: How to plan your meals for the week, healthy and simple. Jan 21st class: Bone Broth & Healthy fats. Class will include a four course tasting menu of samples from that week's menu. Includes wine pairing.

WHO: You and us and Professor Kevin Trinh of Hook and Line Sushi

WHAT: Fresh ingredients - sushi rice & vinegar, nori rolls, and of course, the best fish in Portland -- with a couple saké drinks included for good measure. Lyf from Flying Fish and Kevin from Hook and Line Sushi will cheer you on and you'll walk away with sushi know-how and a full belly. $65 per person - you eat what you roll!
